Meet the #LovePup Foundation

At #LovePup, every dog is family. We’ve made rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming our life’s work. From the moment one foster Chihuahua changed our hearts, we knew we had to do more. Today we carry forward that spark with every tail that wags, every pup that finds a forever home, and every family we help stay together.

How It Started

Back in 2014, it was just one foster dog and a house full of love. We didn’t set out to build an organization. We simply wanted to help that first Chihuahua feel safe, loved, and cherished. That small act of kindness turned into something much bigger. What began in our home soon expanded into a mission to rescue more, heal more, and love more.

In 2021, thanks to the support of our community, we opened our dream shelter in Scottsdale. It features 14 kennels and indoor and outdoor space built for comfort, safety, and healing. It’s a place where pups can recover physically, emotionally, and mentally before they move on to their forever homes.

What We Believe

  • Every dog deserves a safe, loving home.
  • Healing comes in many forms: medical care, behavior support, kindness, consistency. We don’t just rescue—we rehabilitate.
  • Forever means lifelong commitment. Through programs like “A Dog Is Forever”, we help families keep their pets, especially when medical or behavior challenges arise.
  • Prevention matters just as much as rescue. Microchipping, support for dog parents, community education—all help keep pups out of shelters or reunite them with lost families.

How We Help

We don’t just open our doors. We take action. Here’s how:

1. Rescue and Intake
We take in dogs from crises—abandoned, abused, surrendered, or at risk in county shelters. We give them a safe place to heal.

2. Medical Care & Rehabilitation
Every pup gets vaccinations, is spayed/neutered, and microchipped. If behavior or health issues come up, we work on that. We believe healing includes both body and mind.

3. Adoption
We match each dog with a forever home using a careful process. We want the fit to be right for the pup and the adopter. We don’t hide anything—we commit to transparency, support, and helping make the transition as smooth as possible.

4. Supportive Programs

  • It’s Hip to Chip: every dog adopted through Maricopa County Animal Care & Control via #LovePup leaves with a microchip so lost pups can find their way home.
  • A Dog Is Forever: when families face medical or behavioral challenges, we help so that surrender doesn’t have to be the answer.

5. Community & Volunteers
We are a movement. Volunteers, donors, fosters, adopters—all contribute. We host community events like the #LovePup Family Fest, and work with sponsors and partners who believe in the same mission.

Our Impact So Far

Because of everyone who supports us, here are some of the results we’re proud of:

  • We’ve rescued, rehabilitated, and placed over 848 dogs into loving forever homes.
  • Our shelter opened in 2021 with 14 kennels and both indoor & outdoor space to help pups heal.
  • $29,324+ invested into our “A Dog Is Forever” program to keep families and pets together.
  • 30,000+ dogs microchipped through the “It’s Hip to Chip” program, helping lost pups find their way home.
  • Every dog who comes through receives medical care, vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter services. We work to make sure they leave healthier than when they arrived.

Why It Matters

In Arizona and beyond there are too many dogs without homes, too many surrendered because people don’t have support or resources. Rescue alone cannot end this crisis. That’s why our work includes prevention—helping families stay together with their dogs, educating the community, and ensuring lost dogs can find their way home through microchipping.

Because when we save lives, it’s not just the dogs who are changed. People are changed too. The connection, the trust, the joy a dog brings—it ripples through families, friendships, neighborhoods.

How You Can Help

We can’t do this without you. Here’s how you can join our mission:

  • Adopt — If you’re ready, adopt one of our available pups. You’ll get a loyal companion and help give a dog their forever home.
  • Foster — Offer temporary love, safety, and structure until a pup finds a forever family. It makes a big difference.
  • Volunteer — Walks, playtime, shelter care, events, social media support—there are many ways to contribute. Every hour helps.
  • Donate — Money, supplies, food, beds—all are appreciated. Every donation goes toward medical care, shelter operations, behavior support, and prevention programs.
  • Spread the Word — Share our stories. Talk about adoption, responsible pet ownership, and rescue. Awareness helps build change.

Our Promise to You and Every Pup

We will keep showing up—hearts open, arms wide—for foster dogs, community, and families. From intake to adoption, from illness to trust, from uncertainty to wagging tails—we promise every pup is held, healed, and loved until they are home.

Thank you for being part of the #LovePup family. Because with you, more dogs get a second chance. More tails wag. More lives are changed.
